New Students

We are delighted that you are considering enrolling your daughter in Derech Emunah, Seattle Jewish Girls High School.  We are excited to partner with you in providing an outstanding Torah and general education for all our students.

The application process is outlined below.  If you have any questions, or encounter any difficulty in the application process, please contact Michael Friend at michaelfriend@derechemunah. com.  You can also contact Rabbi Shaul Engelsberg at rabbiengelsberg@ derechemunah.com, or at (248) 752-7567, to discuss, or to inquire about, any aspect of Derech Emunah.

The following items are to be submitted by Monday, February 5th:

1)     Application forms (including the forms from your daughter’s current school)

2)     $100 application fee

3)     If applying for tuition assistance -  you must submit the online tuition assistance application by this date. 

 
Tuition for the 2018-2019 academic year is set at $16,500.  Derech Emunah utilizes the online service of FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) to process the tuition assistance applications.  FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information from FAST is kept confidential. Results are reviewed by the Tuition Assistance Committee who makes the tuition aid determination. Detailed instructions of how to apply through FAST are provided on the last page of this letter.
 
Please note that after February 5th, 2018, the application fee goes up to $200 per student.

Once your daughter’s application is fully submitted and reviewed, you will be contacted to set up an entrance interview for your daughter with the Principal.  The interview will give us an opportunity to get to know your daughter in a more individualized way, and to further assess her skills and abilities. 

Formal acceptance letters will be sent out by March 5th, 2018.

Tuition contracts will be sent out by March 12th, 2018.  There will be a two-week opportunity to appeal the tuition assessment to the Tuition Assistance Committee. 

Signed tuition contracts must be returned by May 1st, 2018.

Tuition payments will begin in July 2018. 

Derech Emunah offers three methods of payment:

Twelve predated checks for each month, starting in July 2018, handed into the Derech Emunah's front office  

Twelve equal credit card payments.  Please provide your credit card details to Derech Emunah's front office to utilize this option. This option includes a 3% surcharge.

Twelve automatic dedications form your bank account.  To utilize this option, please provided a voided check to the Derech Emunah’s front office.

How to apply for tuition assistance

INSTRUCTIONS for the FAST APPLICATION:

If you are applying for tuition aid to more than one school, you should receive an email from FAST with a pin number and a link for additional schools after the application to the first school.  To apply your family’s information to the additional school:

a.   Click on the FAST provided link and enter the PIN provided,

b.  Enter your FAST Username and Password (Forgot your password? Call FAST Client Services at 877-326-FAST for assistance.)

c.   Use the drop-down to select the new school you would like to apply to. (Don't see your school? Choose any school shown in the drop-down option and complete your application. Contact FAST Client Services at 877-326-FAST for assistance.)

d.  Please use the navigation bar on your left to choose the section in which you wish to enter data.

e.  FAST charges an additional fee of $10 for each application submitted to another FAST affiliated school.


To start the FAST application process with Derech Emunah as the first or only school:

b.  Enter your FAST Username and Password (Forgot your password? Call FAST Client Services at 877-326-FAST for assistance.).

c.  The application process is self-guided. You may navigate in and out of the program allowing you to partially complete an application and go back to it at another time. Online e-mail and a 24/7 helpline is provided.

d.  FAST charges $43.00 for the initial school application and can be paid by credit card at the end of the session. If you do not have a credit card, or cannot budget the fee, please email treasurer@derechemunah.c om for assistance.

e.  After completing the online application, you will be required to mail your (2017) tax returns for both state and federal taxes with all schedules and W-2’s to:

Returning Students

We are delighted that your daughter is attending Derech Emunah. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you in providing an outstanding Torah and general education. It is now the time of the year when we start the re-enrollment process.

The Derech Emunah Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees have carefully considered the various factors in determining tuition and the re-enrollment process for the coming year. We appreciate the financial investment made by the Derech Emunah families. Our tuition for the 2018-2019 academic year is set for $16,500. There is also a $100 re-enrollment fee for each student. The re-enrollment process is outlined below.

If you intend to pay the full tuition of $16,500, please submit the $100 per student re-enrollment fee to the Derech Emunah office by Monday, February 5th, 2018. Please note that the re-enrollment fee goes up to $200 per student if received after February 5th.

If you intend to apply for tuition assistance, please submit the $100 per student re-enrollment fee to the Derech Emunah office and have your online tuition assistance application by February 5th, 2018. We will once again be utilizing the online service of FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) to process the applications.  Detailed instructions of how to apply through FAST are provided on the last page of this letter.
