New Students

There is a lot of information. Here's what to expect each month during the application process.

January
Derech Emunah’s Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11th, 2017. All interested 8th graders are invited to attend. See invitation here.

For students applying to Derech Emunah for the 2017-2018 school year, the following must be received by January 31, 2017:

  • Completed Enrollment Application, including Judaic and General Studies Principal Recommendation forms.  Application Form 2017-2018.
  • 7th and 8th grade report cards.  If a student is transferring from another high school, all high school transcripts are required in addition to the current and the previous year’s report cards.
  • Conversion documents (if applicable).
  • Application fee of $100.  Make check payable to Derech Emunah.

February
Once the completed application and other documents are received and reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule a Student Entrance Interview. The interview gives us an opportunity to get to know the student in a more individualized way, and to further assess her skills and abilities.

Letters of Acceptance will be sent out by the end of February.

March
Tuition for the 2017-2018 academic year is set for $15,750.

If you intend to apply for tuition assistance, please complete and submit your online tuition assistance application by Wednesday, March 8th, 2017. Derech Emunah utilizes the online service of FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) to process the applications.  Detailed instructions of how to apply through FAST are provided here.

FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information from FAST is kept confidential. Results are reviewed by the Tuition Assistance Committee who makes the tuition aid determination.

April
Tuition contracts will be sent out by April 1st, 2017. There will be a month long opportunity to appeal the tuition assessment to the Tuition Assistance Committee.

May
Signed tuition contracts must be returned by May 1st, 2017.

June
Tuition payments will begin in June 2017 and will be administered by FACTS Management.  The FACTS Management payment information will be sent to you `together with the tuition contracts.

How to apply for tuition assistance

If you intend to apply for tuition assistance, please complete and submit your online tuition assistance application by Wednesday, March 8th, 2017.

FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information from FAST is kept confidential. Results are reviewed by the Derech Emunah Tuition Assistance Committee who makes the tuition aid determination.

If you are applying for tuition aid to more than one school, you should receive an email from FAST with a pin number and a link for additional schools after the application to the first school. To apply your family’s information to the additional school:

  • Click on the FAST provided link and enter the PIN provided
  • Enter your FAST Username and Password (Forgot your password? Call FAST Client Services at 877-326-FAST for assistance.)
  • Use the drop-down to select the new school you would like to apply to. (Don’t see your school? Choose any school shown in the drop-down option and complete your application. Contact FAST Client Services at 877-326-FAST for assistance.)
  • Please use the navigation bar on your left to choose the section in which you wish to enter data.
  • FAST charges an additional fee of $10 for each application submitted to another FAST affiliated school.
To start the FAST application process with Derech Emunah as the first or only school:

  1. Go to: https://www.ismfast.com/Fa stPage.php?id=f93df63938f8f5fa 0e77322d1c277bf2
  2. Enter your FAST Username and Password (Forgot your password? Call FAST Client Services at 877-326-FAST for assistance.).
  3. The application process is self-guided. You may navigate in and out of the program allowing you to partially complete an application and go back to it at another time. Online e-mail and a 24/7 helpline is provided.
  4. FAST charges $43.00 for the initial school application and can be paid by credit card at the end of the session. If you do not have a credit card, or cannot budget the fee, please email treasurer@derechemunah.c om for assistance.
  5. After completing the online application you will be required to mail your (2016) tax returns for both state and federal taxes with all schedules and W-2’s to:

  • Wilmington DE 19806-2594

Include Derech Emunah’s name on the outside of the envelope will ensure faster processing of your application.
